At this point, we are either fully teaching remotely or adapting to a hybrid model. Either way, this school year has been exhausting and it is only late October.

You are likely working well over your contracted time and if you are anything like me, it feels like you cannot get your eyes off of a screen!

Personally, I enjoy teaching online and I have gotten into a groove that works for me, but why do I still feel wiped? I am not engaging in enough self-care!

Self-care is easy to talk about but a lot harder to do. Let's not just talk about, let's be about it! Here are a few ways that I am taking part in some self-care. I hope some of these work for you!

You only have one body, take care of it! 🧠 💪🏼

DRINK WATER - I cannot stress this enough. Water fuels every cell in your body and helps your body rid itself of waste. It can also help with weight loss or maintenance. Get yourself a cute water bottle to keep you motivated! If you want one that will hold a lot of water, try out the Nathan 32 oz water bottle.

FACE MASKS - No, I am not talking about the stylish fabric masks we are wearing during this pandemic! Some of my favorite face masks when I am doing a little at-home, end-of-week spa day at home are the Que Bella masks. These are gentle on the skin and smell really great!

TAKE A BATH - There is nothing better than drawing a bath at the end of a long work week! I keep my bath ingredients very simple by using Teal's Bath Salts. I personally love the Lavender scent and the Eucalyptus.

READ A BOOK - I feel like reading is very personal. I would grab a book you have in your collection already and snuggle up!

YOGA/Meditate - I really like Adrienne Louise on IG (@adrieneouise) and she has a ton of great Yoga challenges! I also really enjoy using FitOn which is an app on iOS and Android. It is also an app available on the newest Apple TV which means you can do your flow in your living room!

TAKE DEEP BREATHS - This is again, very personal. I am compiling some Mindfulness YouTube videos for my students. Check that out --> HERE

LISTEN TO A PODCAST - Need I say more? There are SO MANY options when it comes to podcast. I use Spotify and have enjoyed: The Michelle Obama Podcast, Routine Your Dream Podcast, Science Vs, and CoffeeBreak Spanish.

ONLINE SHOPPING - Since the pandemic hit in March, I have built quite the work-from-home wardrobe. I have found cozy clothes shopping online with Gap, Old Navy, Target, and of course Amazon. Some of my favorite finds are my lavender slides from Amazon. These are dupes for the Birkenstock EVA double buckle sandal. They are super lightweight and easy to clean!

MAKE A TO-DO LIST - With everything I try to balance in a day, my brain cannot hold on to all the small details or notes I tell myself throughout the day. I really enjoy using the Google Keep app on iPhone. I can jot down some things that I want to get done or create my grocery list!

JOURNAL - I recently found that Ross Dress For Less and TJMaxx often times sells Happy Planner products! I found a Big Planner over the Summer and a Mini this Fall. They are sold for a fraction of the price. Now, keep in mind these will be older designs and may be found in the year you will need to use it! If you are like me, I love to collect things to write in (hubby is not a fan) so, I found this really helpful product on Amazon called a "Document Bag" or "Portfolio Organizer". I highly recommend!

WATCH A FUNNY MOVIE OR SHOW - Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Amazon Prime, Disney+...It is all available to us and it is okay to get sucked in to a TV show when trying to unwind! I personally love mindless shows that make me laugh. A Netflix favorite is Schitts Creek or The Office. On Hulu, I always go back to How I Met Your Mother. Whatever you are into, you can find it!

TALK TO LOVED ONES - This is so important for our health; social, mental and emotional. These are taxing times, and I guarantee you are not alone in how you are feeling. It is okay to vent and get those things off of your chest after a long week!

I hope some of these self-care tips work for you as they did and do for me.
